Peggy Joyce Hixson of Riverton

RIVERTON - Services for Riverton resident Peggy Joyce Hixson, 74, will be conducted at 3 p.m. today, Dec. 4, at Davis Funeral Home in Riverton. Graveside services will be held at a later date.

Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m.

She died Nov. 29, 2004, at Wind River Healthcare in Riverton.

Born Dec. 30, 1929, in Laramie, she was the daughter of Robert E. and Irene (Curtis) Mole; and was raised and educated in the Laramie, Rock River and Medicine Bow area, where the family ranched.

On Feb. 19, 1946, she married Leonard H. Hixson.

They lived in the Laramie, Rock River and McFadden area before moving to Riverton in June 1955. After the death of her husband, she worked at V-1; the donut shop; and Wimpenney's shoe store.

She had lived in the Lysite area for 27.5 years, ranching with her long-time companion, Victor "Swede" Bloomquist.

Her interests included ranching; the wildlife that came to the ranch; her cows and wild bunnies; and her grandchildren and great-great-granddaughter.

Survivors include four children, Leonard R. Hixson and his wife of Ranchester and Harvilan Hawkins, Kenneth, and LaMonda Kay Adams and her husband, all of Riverton; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; extended family members; brother, Robert Mole; two sisters, Bette Goddard and Lorretta Nisewinder; two sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James and John Mole; a granddaughter; and her companion.
