Darlene A. Bloomquist of Riverton

THERMOPOLIS - A funeral service for Darlene A. Bloomquist, 72, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, in the chapel of Mortimore Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Christensen of St. Paul Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow at Monument Hill Cemetery in Thermopolis.

She died Jan. 19, 2006, in Casper.

Born March 20, 1933, in Nebraska, she was the daughter of Leo and Helen (Cohee) Erschabek. Her family moved to Wyoming when she was a young girl. Her parents divorced, and her mother married Vic Baus and the family moved to the Thermopolis, where she attended schools until the middle of the 11th grade.

On March 11, 1951, she married Victor Bloomquist and they moved to a ranch on Bridger Creek, where she was a wife, mother and she helped to raise cows and sheep. They later divorced and she moved to Thermopolis and worked as a nurse's aid at Canyon Hills Manor, was a bus aid for Gottsche Rehab and a foster grandparent.

She spent the past several years living at the Sertoma Senior Housing in Riverton, where she had many friends. She was close to her family there and she enjoyed the company of her great-grandchildren immensely. She also enjoyed reading, making children's quilts, visiting with friends at Sertoma and spending time with family.

Survivors include her stepfather, Vic Baus; her daughters, Vicky Williams of Riverton and Kathy McCoy of Lysite; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death my her mother; a sister, Delores Reynolds; a brother, Dave Cohee; and her ex-husband and close friend, Victor Bloomquist.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mortimore Funeral Home.
